Nothing taste like Christmas more than a creamy smooth chocolate covered PEANUT BUTTER BALL! Come along as we create this SCRUMPTIOUS treat and I will show you some SHORT CUTS that will make this recipe faster and better than ever!
We love to make them here and we make it a family affair! I like to get the kiddos involved and I set the ingredients on a cookie sheet to make the process easier and faster. I choose to use the store brand items, just make sure you get REAL butter, real vanilla, and NATURAL PEANUT BUTTER. They are so much creamier with the natural PB.
I buy mostly store brands of these items. I do use NATURAL PEANUT BUTTER.
So let's get started and make something YUMMY!
Recipe
What you need:
1 cup of Peanut Butter (we used Jif Natural)
6 cups of sifted confectioners sugar
2 stick butter (room temperature)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 24oz package of Almond Bark (chocolate)
You will start by creaming your PB and your butter together.
I prefer to use my Kitchen Aid stand mixer for this step. You can use a hand held if you wish.
Mix until totally blended. You will then add your powdered sugar a little at a time. I sift mine to ensure a smooth dough.
Once you have blended the sugar in you will want to add the vanilla to the dough and mix until super smooth. you can taste test now if you JUST CAN'T WAIT!
After the dough is finished you will want to roll out 1 inch PB balls onto a parchment lined cookie sheet. You will then pop this into your freezer.
After the dough is finished you will want to roll out 1 inch PB balls onto a parchment lined cookie sheet. You will then pop this into your freezer.
You can choose to dip them within an hour after freezing or pop them into a freezer safe container for later. When frozen the PB balls won't stick to each other in a freezer safe container.
Follow the next step if you choose to dip them.
You will follow the directions on a package of ALMOND BARK dip and melt your chocolate. If you want you can purchase white chocolate and add a couple of drops of food coloring to make different colored PB balls, or so folks that cannot have chocolate can still enjoy this YUMMY treat!
You will want your chocolate to look just like this. Super smooth and melted thoroughly.
Your frozen PB balls will not melt when dipped into the hot melted bark.
You will dip the PB balls and make sure that they are coated all the way around. I like to use a fork sometimes for this step. You will place them on wax paper to dry. If you are in a hurry you can throw them into the FRIDGE for about 30 minutes and then dip. If you are wanting to add sprinkle or nuts to the top of them make sure that you sprinkle them before they dry.
So have fun with your family creating these YUMMY treats! They make nice gifts for family and friends. They also make a great FINGER FOOD treat to bring to a gathering.
